I started this blog with the expectation to update it fairly frequently. I should know by now that I’m terrible at keeping promises like that…
For months now, I have been actively job searching for a graphic design position. The market has been awful, but I’m starting to see the light! Not only have the past two weeks been filled with interviews, but I received two job offers! I know that if I didn’t take any of those two positions, I’d be a dummy. One job is a great learning experience and will challenge me, but is semi-far away. The other job would be stifling to my creativity and much less challenging, but was close to home. Gas prices are going up and I know I would have to deal with summer traffic going down to the Jersey Shore…quite a dilemma!
Although the travel is going to stink, I am excited to say that I have gladly accepted the position at the company farther away from home. I won’t stay there forever, but at least I know that the experience I take with me will be valuable.
This blog is relatively new, but if it ever blows up and people read this early entry, please answer this: What would you have done in that situation? Better job/more travel or Job below your skill level/better commute?
